I received my BS, MS, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from K. N. Toosi University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2005, 2007, and 2011 respectively. During the first half of 2012, I was a research associate and in the same year, I was appointed as an assistant professor in Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran. My research is generally in applied electromagnetic - and particularly in antennas, array, and phased array antennas - for applications in wireless communications. At present, my interests focus on the applications of metamaterials in the analysis and synthesis of antennas and phased array antennas. Recently I started to work on Graphene and its applications in Terahertz devices. I am the author of Metamaterials in Antenna Engineering, Theory and Applications (LAP Academic Publishing, Germany, 2011). I also have authored or coauthored over 50 journal papers, 3 book chapters, and 40 refereed conference papers. I have supervised or co-supervised over 15 PhD. and M.Sc. theses. I was a recipient of a student's best thesis national festival award for my BS thesis, in May 2006. I was a recipient of the 22nd Khawarizmi International and 13th Khawarizmi Youth Award on Jan. 2009 and Oct. 2011, respectively. I was also the recipient of a research grant awarded in Metamaterial 2010. I am a member of the IEEE Antennas and Propagation Society since 2011. I am also a member of the Iranian National Elite Foundation since 2011.

During last years, I was awarded more than $100,000 grants from private telecommunication companies to provide their research requirements in the fields of antenna and RF/Microwave transceivers. I managed more than 10 different research projects during my work at the Amirkabir University of Technology. About 15 M.S. and Ph.D. students were worked in my lab., which 9 of them awarded Ph.D. scholarships from high-ranked universities of Europe, Canada, Australia, and the United States. I am strongly interested in developing industrially funded research collaborations. I believe it is critical to establish strong links within the industry to maintain a constructive and relevant research agenda. I am strongly interested in working in a research and academic environment that fosters and rewards collaborative, interdisciplinary research efforts. I am also ready to work on other newly arising, challenging, and inter-disciplinary projects.
In my teaching philosophy, I believe that I should act not only as a teacher to educate the students but also as a scientific mentor to help them grow their skills, make better decisions, gain new perspectives on their careers, and even teach them an ability to expand their personal horizons. Effective teaching is a sophisticated coupling of teacher-related and student-related aspects that always challenges educators. Teachers' presentation style, communication, preparation, and student’s attitude, motivation, and even her/his background are some of these teaching aspects. Keeping students in the classroom feel at ease, giving them the self-confidence to ask challenging questions, and helping them explore the teaching contents are the main characteristics of an effective teacher, to ensure all information is absorbed and learned by the students. Effective learning achieves when a teacher successfully maintains the students' interests to the entire class. A teacher should be capable to teach fundamentals and complicated topics in the easiest way. It is the responsibility of the teacher to present the course subject in an interesting and engaging manner that shows the elegance and beauty of subject matter as well as its applicability to solving concrete and real-world problems and to nurture each student's latent desire to learn.
I believe nobody learns unless the material is discussed, written about, and thought about. I believe that the most effective teachers engage students by asking them questions in the classroom, incorporating innovative labs and challenging problem-solving projects, encouraging peer-to-peer interaction through group work and study, and including a wealth of real-world examples of the principles. I recognize the importance of the teacher’s approachability and accessibility that are crucial to completing the teaching processes. Therefore, it requires sufficient time outside the classroom to meet and interact with students who need extra assistance. Sometimes approachability and accessibility lead to finding exceptional students who could involve in potential research opportunities. I am a strong believer in group discussions and activities, which train the students to work as a team. In my opinion, it is my responsibility to go above and beyond textbooks. I should present and easily explain cutting-edge research in the field that I glean from scholarly readings and other resources. I also try to discuss my recent research findings into the relative class. I always ensure that the class material updates with new scientific publications and the state-of-the-art. I always try to employ advanced techniques, including virtual whiteboard, class controlling software, cloud for sharing materials, preparing multimedia presentations to make an interactive class. Where students are found to be lacking appropriate computer or analytical skills I provide additional materials to supplement their understanding.
